ECO LIFE Project Management

Aug 04, 2008

As a discipline, Project Management developed from different fields of applications including construction, engineering, and defense. Project Management is the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.

A project manager is often a client representative and has to determine and implement the exact needs of the client, based on knowledge of the firm they are representing. The ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the contracting party, and to form close links with the nominated representatives, is essential in ensuring that the key issues of cost, time, quality, and above all, client satisfaction, can be realized.

In whatever field, a successful project manager must be able to envision the entire project from start to finish and to have the ability to ensure that this vision is realized.

Any type of product or service — Pharmaceuticals, buildings, vehicles, electronics, computer software, financial services, etc. — may have its implementation overseen by a project manager and its operations by a product manager.

ECO LIFE SaaS (Software as a Service)

Aug 14, 2008

Software as a Service comes in many forms. Using SaaS can conceivably reduce the up-front expense of software purchases, through less costly, on-demand pricing. SaaS is generally associated with business software and is typically thought of as a low-cost way for businesses to obtain the same benefits of commercially licensed, interally operated software without the associated complexity and high initial cost. Consumer-oriented web-native software is generally known as Web 2.0 and not as SaaS.

Key characteristics of software delivered by SaaS:

  • Network-Based access to and management of commerically available software.
  • Activities that are managed from central locations rather than at each customer's site.
  • Application delivery that typically is closer to one-to-many model then one-to-one model, including architecture, pricing, partnering, and management characteristics.
  • Centralized feature updating, which obviates the need for downloadable patches and upgrades.
